چکیده
In this review, we highlight some of the most recent advances in the design and utilization of organic nanoscale objects. Initially discussed is the preparation of well-defined nanoscale assemblies, typically the precursors of nanoscale objects, by programmed supramolecular interactions, and the subtle interplay between molecular structure and selfassembly is highlighted. The covalent stabilization of these supramolecular structures to produce robust nanoscale objects is then addressed from both intramolecular and intermolecular perspectives. Finally, the evolving field of the utilization of these nanoscale ob-

Supramolecular fabrication of multilevel graphene-based gas sensors with high NO2 sensibility.
This study reports the supramolecular assembly of a silver nanoparticle-naphthalene-1-sulphonic acid-reduced graphene oxide composite (Ag-NA-rGO) and its utilization to fabricate a highly sensitive and selective gas sensor. The prepared supramolecular assembly acted not only as a non-covalent functionalization platform (π-π interaction) but was also an excellent scaffold to fabricate a highly s...

We employ a combination of ab initio total energy calculations and classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to investigate the possible self-assembly of nanoscale objects into ultrahigh aspect ratio chains and wires. The ab initio calculations provide key information regarding selective chemical functionalization for end-to-end attraction and the subtle interplay of the energy landscape, w...

Molecular thin films utilizing phosphonates are widely used in a variety of chemical applications, such as surfactants, stabilization of nanoparticle suspensions, layer by layer film formation, and more. Furthermore, surface chemistry is a valuable tool in the context of semiconducting materials. To date, the studies of monolayer formation of phosphonates have mainly focused on phosphonic acids...
متن کاملStructure-property-activity relationships in a pyridine containing azine-linked covalent organic framework for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.
Organic solids such as covalent organic frameworks (COFs), porous polymers and carbon nitrides have garnered attention as a new generation of photocatalysts that offer tunability of their optoelectronic properties both at the molecular level and at the nanoscale. Owing to their inherent porosity and well-ordered nanoscale architectures, COFs are an especially attractive platform for the rationa...
متن کاملSurface mediated assembly of small, metastable gold nanoclusters.
The unique properties of metallic nanoclusters are attractive for numerous commercial and industrial applications but are generally less stable than nanocrystals. Thus, developing methodologies for stabilizing nanoclusters and retaining their enhanced functionality is of great interest. We report the assembly of PPh3-protected Au9 clusters from a heterogeneous mixture into films consisting of s...
